Strategi Diplomasi Indonesia Untuk Mendatangkan Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) di Tengah Penurunan Kondisi Ekonomi Akibat Pandemi Global Covid-19 Periode 2019-2022

Abstract

This study aims to determine the diplomatic strategies designed by Indonesian government institutions, especially the Commercial Diplomacy strategy, to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during the decline of the COVID-19 pandemic using the perspective of Liberalism. The research period is limited to 2019-2022, which is the period of the early years of the emergence of COVID-19 and the stipulation of the pandemic until now. The analysis process uses a qualitative descriptive method with analytical tools, are the theory of Commercial Diplomacy and the concept of Investment Promotion as the basis for thinking. Analysis and finding that the diplomatic steps taken by the Indonesian government to attract FDI during the pandemic are utilizing digital platforms, promoting digital investment, holding showcases in global and local forums, conducting cross-ministerial and institutional cooperation forums, and facilitating investment for entering and feel comfortable in Indonesia. The Indonesian government used these investment promotion activities to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) during the COVID-19 pandemic, primarily to invest in the State's National Strategic Projects.
