This study aims to analyze Indonesia's strategy in encouraging implementation of women's empowerment through APEC's Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) economic model. Based on the results of the United National Development Program Report 2021 on the Gender Inequality Index, Indonesia occupies the 20th position out of 21 underdeveloped countries which shows a high rate of gender inequality. This increase is an important focus by Indonesia, especially to encourage the implementation of women's empowerment through the BCG economic model. Furthermore, Indonesia also agreed on the implementation of the APEC BCG economic model. The results of this study show the strategies carried out by Indonesia related to encouraging the implementation of women's empowerment through the BCG economic model as follows: capacity building support for women entrepreneurs, support for vulnerable groups such as women with disabilities and women living in remote areas through the Women Friendly Village and Child Care (DRPPA) program. Also, support for actively involving women, especially in household waste management systems that proposed by the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MoEF) of the Republic of Indonesia, stipulates the development of a climate change and gender-responsive budget tagging system regulated in the National Strategy for the Acceleration of Gender Mainstreaming (PUG) through Gender-Responsive Planning and Budgeting (PPRG).
