Abstract

This study aims to explain the role of Korean Wave used in South Korea as soft diplomacy in Japan on the period 2012-2015. In analyzing this research, author used Soft diplomacy theory. This type of research is qualitative research. The results of this study indicate that the use of Korean Wave as soft diplomacy by South Korea in Japan change the negative sentiment of Japanese toward South Korean citizen, the influx of Korean Wave in the scope of the creative industries of Japan as a benchmark for successful use of the Korean Wave, in this case the field of cinema and music because the Japanese creative industry itself is a big industry, and increase the cultural exchange cooperation of both countries.
