Abstract

Illegal fishing is one of Transnational Crimes that is very harmful to the Indonesian state. For that one effort that needs to be done is to raise cooperation with countries that have the ability to qualify to help the implementation of illegal fishing handling is effective and efficient. This research seeks to describe the form of support provided by the United States in the eradication of illegal fishsing in Indonesian waters. This study is qualitative primary data and secondary data. The data were analyzed using the theory of International coorporation and using the concept of National Interest and illegal fishing. The results of this study show there are four support models that the United States provides in the eradication of illegal fishing in Indonesian waters. The Conclution in this research is Of the four models of support provided by the United States the author considers to represent the strengthening of Indonesia's weaknesses and shortcomings in the handling of illegal fishing activities and support that the United States did have a positive impact on Indonesia due to not only technological support in handling illegal cases fishing but also the exchange of information and training on illegal fishing cases that are happening in Indonesian waters to the employees of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries so as to improve the quality of handling of illegal fishing in Indonesian waters to a better and more effective direction.
