Abstract

This study discusses how to implement the policy of sinking foreign vessels for illegal fishing in Indonesia in 2014-2019. This study aims to describe the implementation of the policy of sinking foreign ships by using various efforts made by the Government of Indonesia through three main pillars to make Indonesia a maritime country free from illegal fishing. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. This study uses the realist paradigm, decision-making theory, securitization theory, and the concept of Illegal fishing which the author uses as a scalpel in analyzing this research. The periodization in this study is limited to the period of Minister Susi Pudjiastuti, which was from 2014 to 2019. The results of this study are that the government “umbrella†used to issue this policy is based on three main pillars, namely the pillars of sovereignty, the pillars of sustainability and the pillars of sustainability. welfare, with the results of research that the implementation of the policy of sinking foreign ships carried out during the time of Minister Pudjiastuti was considered effective in reducing the number of illegal fishing in Indonesia, as evidenced by the increasing number of fish consumption and Indonesian fishery production.
