Diplomasi Jepang Terhadap Rusia dalam Penyelesaian Sengketa Kepulauan Kuril Selatan Pada Masa Pemerintahan Shinzo Abe (2012-2016)

This study aims to describe the Japanese diplomacy towards Russian to solve the Southern Kuril Islands disputes during the reign of Shinzo Abe (2012-2016). The problems that have occurred has impacted the bilateral relations between Japan and Russia. So billateral diplomacy is a strategy that Shinzo Abe takes toward Russia to resolving the dispute over the southern Kuril Islands. This research uses qualitative methods. and using conflict resolution theory and the theory of diplomacy in the framework. The results showed that the diplomacy carried by the Japanese prime minister Shinzo Abe is proposing eight points of bilateral cooperation with Russia. The cooperation covers economy cooperation. politics. security. environment. infrastructure. investment. trade. energy. pharmaceutical. and technology. Based by theory that such cooperation can reduce the tension between Japan and Russia caused by a dispute over the southern Kuril Islands.
